Game Board Chart (PacMan inspired)

The long awaited Game Board Chart is finished! And now available on Ravelry for purchase! With this chart you can create many items, from pillows to blankets to a very slouchy hat!

You must be familiar/comfortable with Fair Isle Knitting. There are lots of videos online that can help you with this technique.

The Game Board chart is blank so that you may put the ‘pieces’ wherever you wish! Each ghost & gobbler are a 5x5 chart and fit anywhere on the board to make each project one of a kind!

Skills needed:
Casting On/Off
Knit
Purl
Familiarity with Fair Isle technique

Size & Gauge are dependent on the yarn you use. I used Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash to create the slouchy hat pictured here. I needed 1 full 100g ball for the black, about 1/2 100g ball for the blue, less than 1/4 100g ball for the white and about 10 inches of yarn for each of the game pieces (great way to use up scraps!!).

Currently, only the chart is available for purchase. If you are interested in the hat pattern seen above, please email at bynxdesigns@gmail.com. If there is enough interest, i'll put it up on Ravelry!

Knitting Getaway

It's very hard to knit when you have a busy schedule. Between working, hanging out with friends and sleeping, there was no time for knitting! And the list of projects I had was just growing, with no sign of slowing down.

Friday night, myself & some friends drove up to Blue Mountain for a weekend getaway. I personally don't ski or snowboard, so I figured this would be a great opportunity to knit! And it has been! With two projects completed, I would say this Knitting Getaway was very successful.

I finished my "Forest Toque" for Alanna's boyfriend Mike. Since I had the time, I gave him two pompom options:

I also FINALLY finished my PacMan inspired Game Board Hat! I will be selling the chart on Ravelry, along with the hat pattern I created for a super slouchy toque. For now, here's a sneak preview of it!

Honeycomb Headband

This headband is a quick and easy knit, and only uses 1/2 a skein of yarn! Made on straight needles, it's great for beginners and has a "seamless" look!

Pattern is available to download on Ravelry.com or click the button below!

Special thanks to the beautiful Sarah for being my model!!

Perfecting PacMan

I've been working away on this Pac Man design .. and when I said before it was a jumble of colours, I really meant it!

Luckily, this is the backside, but i'm going to keep Shane  (the lucky recipient of this hat) in the dark on what the finished product will look like.

In the meantime, I've taken a little break from this guy to work on a design for a knotted headband. These "turbands" and other Arabic inspired headbands are really in right now, so I thought i'd jump on the band wagon and create a design before the winter season is over! Also, my girlfriend Sarah requested one ;)

Here's a sneak peak!

There are plenty of designs available for these fashion forward headbands. If you can't wait for my design, check out KnitMotion.com. Her Francine Turband is gorgeous and was pretty easy to make! Here's my version on the lovely Martha.

Not looking to spend any money? Check out her Turban(d) - it's free to download on Ravelry.com!!

Just keep knitting... Just keep knitting ...

This is my mantra right now.

I'm in the midst of creating an awesome Pac-Man hat for my friend Shane. What have I gotten myself into?!
On paper, the design looks AWESOME! And super easy. But on knitting needles ... yikes! It's a jumble of yarn and colours (did I mention it requires 8 different colours of yarn?).On the plus side, it's coming together quite nicely!

Hopefully will be done this bad boy in the next week or so! The pattern will be for sale on Ravelry for all you brave knitters out there. My next creations will be a Knitted Headband for my girlfriend Sarah and some super cozy dog sweaters for 2 very sweet Whippets.

Calf Warmers Are A Hit!

Ahhh the simple things in life...

After spending a hefty amount of time in front of the computer last night (*cough* 3 hours *cough*) I finally got my Calf Warmer pattern up and running on Ravelry.

Within less than 12 hours, it has been "liked" 13 times and 2 people have purchased it! (Weeee!!) Not to mention that when you search "Calf Warmers" on Ravelry ... it's the first pattern to appear.

(Ok, I think I'm done gloating now)

I'm so happy to have such amazing feedback in such a short amount of time. I'm in shock to be honest.
A big thanks to my lovely friend Caleigh for suggesting I make these. I guess I owe you royalties!!

Cabled Calf Wamers

My good friend Caleigh found a photo on Pinterest of these awesome knitted "Calf Warmers" and wondered if I could make them. I've been trying to branch out from hats, as that's all I seem to do, and said I'd give it a go. Going on just the picture, I tried to re-create a similar style and came up with this pattern! This is my first pattern and I'm actually quite proud!

The pattern is available on Ravelry or click the button below to purchase!

Here are some photos of the lovely Caleigh modeling her pair of Cabled Calf Warmers:
